One Passenger Killed In Two Vehicle Collision

A 48-year-old man has died Sunday after the 1996 GMC pickup truck he was riding in collided with a 1996 Freightliner. Scott Lee Powell was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple blunt force trauma. He was sitting in the right passenger seat of the pickup when the accident occured. The pickup truck was traveling west on Secondary 221 in Calhoun County and the Freightliner was going south on SC 267 when the vehicles collided. The 37-year-old driver of the pickup and the the 30-year-old middle seat passenger were both taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries.
The Highway Patrol's MAIT team is still investigating the accident.
