One dies in fatal car accident on Saturday

Regina M. Yarborough, 62, of Scranton, South Carolina was killed in a two-car crash in Lake City in southern Florence County Saturday afternoon. 

 

The crash happened at 1:15 pm at the intersection of Trifalia and Matthews Road. Yarborough was in her 2000 GMC Jimmy when she was struck by a Ford F-350 being driven by Anthony Stewart, 29, of Hartsville.

 

Stewart is said to have failed to yield right of way at the intersection, causing the crash. Stewart was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, Yarborough was not. 


Yarborough was pronounced dead at the scene. Highway patrol is still investigating the incident.
