One dies in Darlington County car crash

Casey Antwine Hawkins, 28, died Tuesday morning in a car crash in Darlington County. Hawkins was driving on Center Road, just north of U.S. 15, when he loss control of the vehicle he was driving and collided with a tree.

 

The accident happened at 8:20 a.m. while Hawkins was driving alone south on Center Road in his 2002 Honda Accord and he ran his car off the right side of the road, overcorrected, and veered off the left side of the road, flipping his vehicle. He was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash and was subsequently thrown from his car.

 

Hawkins was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Highway Patrol is still investigating the incident.
