One Airlifted After Car Accident in Carolina Forest

A 16-year-old girl is in the intensive care unit at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center after being involved in a car accident on Saturday April 9, 2011. Cpl. Paul Brothers of the SC Highwy Patrol says that a black Mazda sedan ran a stop sign and hit a black Volvo SUV.
Neither driver was injured in the wreck, however, the two passengers in the Mazda were hurt. One was airlifted to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center and the other was taken in an ambulance. Allen Cooper, the driver of the Mazda was issued a ticket for disregarding a stop sign.
Police are investigating the accident. Witnesses to the accident say the intersection is a dangerous one and people should pay closer attention.
