Off Duty Horry County Firefighter Killed in Motorcycle Crash

On Tuesday, January 6, 2015, an off duty firefighter was killed in a crash while driving his motorcycle. Furman "Mitch" Hanna, 31 years old, was a Senior Firefighter for the Horry County Fire Rescue.  

Hanna was driving his Harley Davidson motorcycle south on Enoch Road when a Chevrolet HHR was traveling north toward him. The Chevrolet turned left in front of Hanna to pull into a private drive and the two vehicles crashed.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol confirmed no charges have been made at this time, and the accident is still under investigation.
