Nissan recalling vehicles to address possible air bag problems

Nisson Motor Co. plans to recall nearly 135,000 Infiniti G35 sedans and coupes to address potential air bag problems. The automaker is concerned that the air bags could not deploy in a crash.

 

The recall includes G35 Coupes from 2005 to 2007 and G35 Sedans from 2005 to 2006.

 

Nissan says the air bag unit's wire harness under the front passenger seat has the possibility of wearing down and interrupting the air bag's signal which could result in it not deploying, increasing the risk of an injury. No injuries have yet been reported.

 

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has said that Nissan has not yet provided a plan to repair the vehicles but should provide that information this month. Owners will be notified of the recall in June.
