Nine-Month-Old Baby Killed in Car Accident

Tuesday afternoon a nine-month-old baby was killed in car accident in Florence county. Lance Cpl. Sonny Collins said the accident happened around 3:10 p.m. along Big Swamp Road near Pamplico. According to Collins, a 1990 Honda ran off the roadway, hit a ditch and a tree and then overturned. Several people were taken to the hospital, however, the baby did not survive.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate whether all the passengers in the car were properly restrained at the time of the accident.
