NC man charged with felony DUI in Thursday wreck

A North Carolina man has been charged with a felony DUI following a Thursday night wreck that resulted in the death of a Loris man. 

Timothy Wayne Fowler, 24, of Tabor City, North Carolina was charged with felony driving under the influence in Horry County after his involvement in a 10 pm crash last Thursday that killed Robert C. Byerly, 56, of Loris, South Carolina.

Fowler was driving his 1999 Kia SUV northbound on Highway 701 when he crossed the center line, entered the southbound lane, and collided with a 2008 Chevrolet car which Byerly was driving.

Byerly died at Loris Hospital of his injuries. Fowler is charged with felony DUI resulting in death. He remains in jail at the present time.
