Myrtle Beach Man Charged with DUI After Accident with Golf Cart

A Myrtle Beach man is in jail after authorities say he crashed his golf cart into a vehicle while driving under the influence of alcohol. Thomas Peter Mortimore was charged with DUI and disorderly conduct after being invloved in an accident with an SUV Monday evening near 5300 North Ocean Blvd. According to reports Mortimore left the scene of the accident on foot and police were able to locate him near Poinsett Road and North Kings Hwy. He was identified as the driver of the golf cart. He refused to cooperate during field sobriety tests and was taken to the Myrtle Beach jail. Officiers later learned that his driver's license was under suspension.
Police continue to obtain details about the accident.
