Multiple Charges for Driver who Killed Moped Driver

Brandon Brinson, 21, of Duplin County, NC, was killed in a hit and run accident while driving his moped in Myrtle Beach on Kings Highway around 6:45 AM over Memorial Weekend.

The driver that hit Brinson was Reginald Rivers, Jr. He was traveling at a high rate of speed and ran into the back of the moped. According to police reports, the vehicle drug the moped several blocks before hitting a utility pole. Rivers then fled on foot. 

An officer witnessed the crash and was able to capture Rivers as he was leaving the scene.

Rivers is being charged with "Felony DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, driving under suspension, and felon in possession of a deadly weapon after the deadly hit and run wreck."
