Motorcyclists' Leg Amputated In Crash

The North Myrtle Beach police are investigating a motorcycle accident that happend Thursday afternoon and caused one woman to lose her leg. The accident occurred at 1600 Highway 17 North around 3:30 pm when a vehicle travling northbound hit the motorcycle. The impact of the collision sent the motorcycle into another vehicle traveling southbound. The motorcycle had a male driver and female passenger on board. The female passengers leg was amputated from the knee down in the collision.

The accident remains under investigation by the police.
