South Carolina Motorcycle Accident Kills 1, Injures Another

A motorcycle accident in Lexington County Saturday night killed 1 person and injured another. The accident happened around 9:30 p.m. when a motorcycle with 2 riders hit the back of a 1995 Ford dump truck. Both the motorcycle and the truck were traveling north on U.S. 21 when the accident occured. The driver of the motorcycle was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger on the bike, 28-year-old Nicole Gantt was taken the Palmetto Health Richland. She was also not wearing a helmet. The driver of the truck did not sustain any injuries.

Highway Patrol Troopers have stated that speed is believed to be a factor in the accident and they are currently still investigating the incident.
