Mother files wrongful death suit over DUI crash

A Montana woman has filed a wrongful death suit against the tavern her daughter was employed at, claiming she was encouraged to drink at work, leading to her death in a DUI crash. 

 

Dallice Smith, 24, drove her car off Highway 69 and into a ditch after completing her Super Bowl Sunday shift last year at the Windsor Bar. Her mother claims her daughter's manager "permitted and encouraged" Smith to drink while she was working her shift as a waitress. The lawsuit also alleges that after her shift was over, management continued to let her drink and let her drive home, even though they were aware she was intoxicated.

 

Smith was a junior at Montana State University at the time of her death. Her mother said she took the job to make extra money while she was in school.
