Mother and Child Killed in Car Accident Near a Saluda County Elementary School

A mother and her son were killed in a car accident involving an 18-wheeler outside of Hollywood Elementary School in Saluda county Monday morning. The two victims, Magali Martinez, 42, and Abner Cibrian, 6, were killed in the accident. There were two other passengers in the car at the time of the accident, and they were airlifted to the hospital. Martinez was wearing a seatbelt, however none of the other children in the car had one on at the time of the accident.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is still in the process of investigating the car accident.
