Moped Driver Killed After Accident with SUV

The driver of a moped is dead after an accident with an SUV Monday evening. 56-year-old David Helms was traveling on U.S. 378 around 6:15 pm when he attempted to turn onto Highway 763 and was hit by an oncoming SUV. Helms was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

The Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
