Man killed in motorcycle accident in Timmonsville

Samuel Roberts, 56, of Florence, South Carolina was killed Monday afternoon while riding his motorcycle down Hill Road in Timmonsville. A dog ran out in front of Roberts, and he tried to avoid hitting the animal and subsequently lost control of his motorcyle and was then thrown from the bike.

Roberts was accompanied by a couple riding a motorcycle with him and he was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. He was taken to the hospital immediately following the accident, where he died of injuries an hour later. The dog was also killed as a result of the crash.
