Man Injured in Lake Norman Boat Accident

A North Carolina man was injured in a boating accident on Lake Norman on Saturday morning. According to officers with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission, the man hit a wave and got knocked off the boat around 11 A.M. His boat kept going and hit the man after he had fallen in the water causing serious injuries to his leg.

Witnesses say the man's friends pulled him from the water after he was able to swim outside of the boat's spinning cicle. The man was airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center for treatment. Wildlife officers said that many boating injuries can be prevented if boats would keep a lanyard hooked to kill switches, so that the boat can be turned off in emergency situations.

Authorities are still investigating this case.
