Man crashes car while fleeing police

Around midnight Monday night, a man crashed his car in Horry County while attempting to a police officer.

The Horry County police officer had attempted to make a traffic stop at the junction of U.S. 701 and Adrian Highway. The man attempted to escape the officer by turning off his lights and turning down a dirt road.

Shortly afterward, the man crashed his vehicle into a tree. The police officer was then able to arrest the man. No injuries were reported in the accident and police have not specified the charges against the man. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is now investigating the incident.
