Man charged with DWI in fatal crash

Daniel Harrison Brennick, 22, of Southport, North Carolina has been charged with driving while intoxicated in relation to a crash that occurred late Friday night along N.C. 133.

The accident happened around 11:30 pm when Brennick's vehicle crossed the center line of N.C. 133 and struck the vehicle of Satu M. Harris, 38, of Oak Island, North Carolina, almost head on. Harris died from injuries sustained in the crash.

Harris and Brennick were both the only occupants of their vehicles, however, debris from the crash struck another car travelling behind Harris.

Other charges are pending against Brennick, who is currently in the hospital with serious injuries.
