Two years after a tragic car accident, 30 year old Gabriel Lee Gratto, pled guilty to the following charges: Felony Driving Under the Influence resulting in death, Felony Driving Under the Influence resulting in great bodily injury, and also Leaving the Scene of an Accident resulting in death.

In 2013, around 7:20pm, Gratto crossed into oncoming traffic and hit the driver side door of Joan Errickson's Buick going approximately 51mph. After seeing Prestwick Golf Course surveillance videos, Gratto was seen getting out of his car, peering into the Buick where Errickson and her fiance were trapped, and then running away from the scene on foot.

Errickson was announced dead at the scene and her fiance, Charles Roach was taken the hospital for his injuries.

Authorities found Gratto at his home and brought him back to the scene. He was administered a Field Sobriety Test that he failed and his Blood Alcohol Content was found to be much higher than the level limit.

In court this week, Gratto pled guilty to his charges and was sentenced to 15 years in the South Carolina Department of Corrections without a chance of parole.
