Lawnmower Runs Over and Kills Child in Tabor City

A three year old boy is dead following an accident involving a lawnmower. The police state that the Tabor City boy was riding on the lawnmower with an adult around 4 p.m. Wednesday on West Third Street when the adult stopped the mower and got off for a brief moment. That is when it is suspected that the child touched something on the mower that caused it to start moving. The boy then fell off the lawnmower and was run over by it. The boy, Mario Lewis Jr., was taken to Loris Hospital but died later Wednesday evening. The police are still investigating the accident in order to determine the exact chain of events.
