Horry County wreck leads to death of child

A two car accident outside of Loris led to the death of a 1-year-old boy on Tuesday afternoon.

The wreck involved a 1995 Cadillac and a 2003 Buick and took place on S.C. 9, 3 miles east of Loris at around 4:15 pm.

A 25-year-old Loris woman was attempting cross the southbound lane of S.C. 9 in her Cadillac when she pulled out in front of the Buick. Her Cadillac overturned following the collision. She was sent to Loris Community Hospital for treatment of injuries. Her passenger, a 1-year-old boy, also from Loris, was killed in the crash.

No charges have been filed yet as the accident is still under investigation by Highway Patrol.
