Gaffney Man Killed In Car Accident

A Gaffney man has died after a car accident Thursday evening around 7:30 P.M. on Chestnut Ridge Road. Cherokee County coroner Dennis Fowler stated that Mark Allen Enoch, 52, lost control of the 2004 GMC Envoy he was driving. According to the Highway Patrol, Enoch was driving north on Chestnut Ridge Road when he drove off the left side of the road, hit a debris pile and then a well house. He was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from the car. Enoch was pronouced dead at the scene of blunt force body trauma.

The coroner says that speed and alcohol were factors in the accident, and the Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate.
