Fund Started For Teen Hit-And-Run

   A benefit fund has been set up on behalf of a teen who suffered personal injury in a hit-and-run accident in Litchfield Saturday.

   The fund will benefit the family of Jasonn Russell, 16, who was struck by a car driven by 18-year-old Thomas Gallagher of Pawleys Island, as he walked with others along Litchfield Rd. late Saturday night.

   Russell, a Waccamaw High School student, remains in critical condition at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston. The money will allow his family to stay in Charleston while he is being treated for his injuries.

   Gallagher, who turned himself in to state troopers Monday, has been charged with leaving the scene of a collision with personal injury.

   Donations can be made to the "Benefit for Jasonn Russell" at any branch of Conway National Bank, or mailed to Conway National Bank at P.O. Box 2490, Murrells Inlet, SC, 29576.
