Four-car crash in Dillon County leaves mother dead

A four-car collision took place on S.C. 38 in Dillion County near the I-95 interchange around 7:25 am that sent four to the hospital and killed a mother of three.

Beneio Torres was exiting I-95 onto S.C. 38 when he disregarded a stop sign. His 2004 Chevrolet SUV then collided with a 2008 Ford van going westbound on S.C. 38 before hitting a 1998 Chevrolet Malibu traveling east. He then struck a 2007 Honda SUV.

Tashema Ford, 34, the driver of the Malibu was struck on the driver's side by Torres' SUV. She was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and died from injuries she sustained in the accident. The three other drivers and a passenger in the Honda were taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries.
