Fatal Crash on I-95 Wednesday Morning

One person died and another two were taken to Florence Regional Medical Center this morning after a two-vehicle crash on I-95 in Timmonsville near the Honda Way Interchange. 

The victim was traveling southbound when her vehicle veered across the median into northbound traffic around 11:20 Wednesday morning. The victim has been identified as Geraldine Sheppard Wilson, 64, of Baltimore, Maryland. Wilson was traveling to Georgia, along with her husband, who drove a separate car. Wilson's 1993 Honda Accord collided with the 1999 Chevrolet van driven by a Raleigh, North Carolina resident who was going northbound. The driver has been transported to an area hospital for treatment.

I-95 was backed up two miles along mile-markers 153 and 154 where the accident took place. South Carolina Highway Patrol is currently handling the investigation of the accident.
