Elderly Woman Dies In Collision

   An elderly Chesnee woman involved in a two-car collision has died, according to officials at Spartanburg Medical Center.

   Alma L. Jenkins, 89, died in the hospital Wednesday afternoon at 5:39 p.m., said Cherokee County Coroner Dennis Fowler. Her vehicle was struck almost head-on on S.C. Hwy. 11 by a juvenile in a 1992 Toyota Camry.

   The condition of the teen driver, who was making a left turn onto S.C. Hwy. 110, is still unknown.

   Jenkins was the passenger in a 2005 Honda driven by her niece, Carolyn Cromer Johnson, also of Chesnee.

   An autopsy was done this morning.
