Driver charged in 501 accident

A accident occurred on Highway 501 in Myrtle Beach Monday afternoon around 3:30 pm across from Dick's Pawn Shop causing a section of the road to be closed to traffic.

A Lexus SUV was attemping to cross 501 when it pulled in front of a southbound Buick SUV. The Lexus was then hit by the Buick and then overturned. Authorities say that both victims in the accident were checked for injuries at the scene.

Traffic was reopened once emergency crews cleared the vehicle from the scene. The driver of the Lexus was charged with failure to yield right-of-way.
