Car Pursuit by Police Ends With Car Accident and One Dead

The driver of an SUV that was being pursued by the Hemingway police was killed after a car accident involving another car at the intersection of SC 261 and FC Cox Road. The driver, Alvin B. Fleming, 47, died at the scene of the car accident. He was being pursued by the Hemingway police when his Dodge Durango collided with a Ford Expedition which had stopped at a stop sign and then pulled onto SC 261. The driver of the Expedition was taken to the hospital and treated for injuries.
The Hemingway Police Department is still investigating the pursuit and the SC Highway Patrol's MAIT team is investigating the car accident.
