Fatal Car Accident on Highway 9

The South Carolina Highway Patrol investigated a fatal car accident in Dillon County on Wednesday afternoon on Highway 9. The accident happened around 1:45 pm when a 2006 Chevy Impala was going south on Highway 9 when it collided with anoterh car in an intersection. The other car, a 2001 Chevy Suburban, was attempted to make a left turn onto Cashua Ferry Road but did not yield the right of way. The victim was wearing a seat belt but later died. Charges have not been filed yet but the accident is still under investigation.

Dillon County Accident Kills 1 and Injures 1

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a crash in Dillon County that killed one man and injured another person Wednesday morning. A male driver of a 2002 Jeep was going north on Highway 301 when the car overturned and crashed. The victim was ejected from the car and was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger in the car was taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries. Neither the driver or passenger were wearing a seat belt. Police are still trying to determine what caused the driver to crash.

One Person Killed in Car Accident on Highway 378

Authorities state that one person died after a car accident Monday morning in Sumter County. The accident happened around 9:50 am on Highway 378 just west of the Wateree River bridge. The vehicle was traveling west when the driver lost control and the car struck a tree. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene and was he was not wearing a seat belt.

Myrtle Beach Man Dies in Motorcycle Crash

A Myrtle Beach man has died after an accident. The driver of the motorcycle, Tal Dahabani, was going southbound on Highway 31 when he crashed his motorcycle just north of mile marker 15. He was taken to the hospital but was pronounced dead. Police are still determining the cause of the accident. -
Accident on Highway 544 Closes Road

The southbound lanes of Highway 544 were shut down Thursday morning after a multi-car accident. The accident happened around 8:00 am when a driver of a Chevy pickup went across the center line and hit an SUV head on. The driver of the SUV suffered significant injuries and was taken to the hospital. The two people in the pickup truck were treated and released. The driver of the truck was ticketed for driving left of center.

3 Car Accident Blocked Beach Bound Lanes of Highway 501

The south bound lanes of Highway 501 were blocked for quite some time near Robert Grissom Parkway and Myrtle Beach Chevrolet Saturday after a 3 car accident. Reports stated that three cars collided with each other after one car rear ended another and then verred into another lane striking a third vehicle and causing it to flip. There were not any injuries reported in the accident but the road was closed.

Highway Patrol Investigates Overnight Deadly Accident

The SC Highway Patrol is still investigating a deadly overnight accident on S.C. 9 around 2 am. The crash involved a single car, a 2001 Buick, and killed the driver. Police say the vehicle was going southbound on SC 9 and drove off the right side of the road and struck a concrete support beam of a bridge. The driver was wearing a seat belt but was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple blunt force injuries. Police are still working to determine why the driver left the roadway.

Mother and Son Killed in I-20 Car Accident

Authorities stated that a mother and son were both killed in a fatal car accident Sunday morning on I-20 in Columbia. Tony Lamar Hill and his mother, Tonya H. Dash, were both pronounced dead at the scene from head and body trauma. According to the reports, they were traveling westbound in a Ford Explorer Sunday morning around 10:45 when the driver lost control of the SUV. The SUV struck a median cable barrier, overturning the car and ejecting the two victims. They were not wearing their seat belts. Two other passengers in the car were taken to the hosptial with non-life threatening injuries.
Police continue to investigate the cause of the accident.

Highway Patrol Investigates Fatal Accident on Highway 17A

The South Carolina Highway Patrol investigated a single car accident early Monday morning in Moncks Corner that killed one person. The reports state that a 2003 Mitsubishi was going south on Highway 17A, when it ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree. The victim, identified as Anna Geno, 61, was not wearing a seat belt and was killed in the accident. She was pronounced dead at the scene from head and body trauma. Geno had just finished a 12 hour shift at Georgetown Hospital when the accident occured.

Victim Identified After Fatal Accident in Timmonsville

The South Carolina Highway Patrol investigated a fatal car accident in Timmonsville last Thursday evening. The accident happened just after 6 pm on Garner Road. A car traveling down the road drove off the roadway and into a ditch. The victim was later identified as Bobbie Hickson. Police state that a prior medical condition may have contributed to the accident.
