Accident With Injuries on Highway 701 Wednesday Afternoon

The South Carolina Highway Patrol reported a car accident Wednesday afternoon on Highway 701 in Horry County. The accident happened around 1:30 pm near Baker's Chapel. According to the reports, a Chevy Blazer was going towards the beach on 701 crossed over the center line and hit a truck pulling a horse trailer and a Nissan sedan.
The driver of the Blazer was taken to Conway Medical Center and the driver of the Nissan was air-lifted to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. The police stated that the driver of the Blazer may face charges in the accident. Highway 701 near Highway 22 was closed for a while to allow for crews to clear the scene.
The police continue to investigate the accident.
