A children's medication produced at the same plant as the contaminated Johnson & Johnson products has been voluntarily recalled by its manufacturer.

Four types of PediaCare, a children's over-the-counter medicine, have been pulled from the shelves by Blacksmith Brands, Inc for precautionary measures. The products were manufactured at the McNeil Consumer Healthcare Fort Washington, PA plant, which also produced the recalled Children's Tylenol medications.

Blacksmith Brands, Inc says the recall was entirely voluntary and was not a result of any consumer complaints or injury.

The McNeil plant has been temporarily shut down for failing to meet U.S. Food and Drug Administration manufacturing standards. Blacksmith Brands, Inc says it will begin production of the recalled products at another plant. The company expects to ship out new over-the-counter medicines in July.

Not all PediaCare products have been recalled, only the ones manufactured at the McNeil plant. Recalled medicines involve all 4-ounce sizes of PediaCare Multi-Symptom Cold, PediaCare Long-Acting Cough, PediaCare Decongestant and PediaCare Allergy & Cold. Consumers are encouraged to stop the use of the recalled products immediately and to dispose of them safely.
