3 Injured in Charleston County Car Accident

According to reports, a police officer and two other people were injured in a car accident after the police officer crashed his car in downtown Charleston Tuesday evening. The South Carolina Highway Patrol states that the Charleston City police officer was at a stop sign on Congress Street at the corner of King street, pulled out and failed to yield the right of way. He collided with a Nissan and a telephone pole.
The driver of the Nissan, the passenger in the car, and the police officer were all taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. The highway patrol states that the officer contributed to the collision and that the accident is still under investigation.
