2 fatal car accidents occur in Horry County

A man and a woman were killed in separate crashes Friday in Horry County. One crash occurred at the intersection of Highway 9 and Highway 410 in the Green Sea community.  Roylyn Lovett of Green Sea was traveling north on highway 9 when a 19-year-old woman from High Point, N.C. onto highway 9 from Highway 410.  Ms. Lovett was pronounced dead at Loris Community Hospital. The crash is under investigation, and Collins said no charges have been filed.

The second crash occurred on Highway 554 about 10 miles south of Loris.  Allen R. Floyd, 26, of Loris, was pronounced dead at the scene from internal injuries he suffered after his vehicle struck a tree, Horry County Coroner Robert Edge said. Floyd was driving a Chevrolet Cobalt north on Secondary Highway 554 when he apparently ran off the road, overcorrected and then ran off the other side and hit a tree.
