18-Year Old Killed in Car Accident in Sumter County

The passenger in a single vehicle car accident died in Sumter county. The car, a PT Cruiser, was traveling north on Black River Road around 5:30 P.M. Friday when it went off the left side of the road, overcorrected, and went off the right side of the road and overturned. The driver of the car, Jerry Brunson, and the two backseat passengers were taken to the hospital after the accident. The front seat passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as 18-year-old Danzell Roberts. He was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the car accident.

Highway Patrol's MAIT team is still investigating the car accident.
