1 Dead After Car and Tractor-Trailer Collision

One person was killed in an auto accident involving a car and a tractor-trailer Wednesday morning in Colleton County. The South Carolina Highway patrol confirmed that a Nissan Altima and a tractor-trailer carrying boats collided head-on at 6:30 A.M. on Highway 61 near Red Oak Road. The truck was traveling north on Highway 61 when the driver of the Nissan crossed the center line and crashed head-on into the truck. The driver of the Nissan was confirmed dead. The tractor-trailer overturned in the accident and the driver was taken to the hospital.

The collision is under investigation by the highway patrol.
