Do I sign documents and give statements to the truck company's insurance carriers after a truck accident?

 

A:

Be careful, the trucking companies and their adjusters are experienced and would like to limit damages early on if possible. The adjusters represent the truck company, and owe you no loyalty.  They do not look out for your best interest.   Do not give them statements or sign any releases for medical records or employment records.  In serious accidents, trucking companies and their insurance companies will start investigating the accident immedicately.  You need to retain an attorney immediately to allow an investigation immediately after the wreck.
