Pregnant women who are exposed to elevated levels of some types of phthalates may give birth to boys who exhibit less-masculine play behavior than other males
Pregnant women who are exposed to elevated levels of some types of phthalates may give birth to boys who exhibit less-masculine play behavior than other males, a new study has concluded. According to the study, published in the International Journal of Andrology, boys of women with higher concentrations of di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) and dibutyl phthalate (DBP) in their prenatal urine scored 8 percent further away from the masculine end of the scale than other boys.
